MRT of overhead transmission lines

MRT of wire ropes used at overhead transmission lines (OHTL) is quite new application for the wire rope flaw detector INTROS. The guidance for MRT of wire ropes at OHTL was developed in order to clarify issues arisen when customers provide nondestructive examination of lightning ropes, pole guys, and steel core of current-carrying wires. Many OHTL are in hard usage during dozens years and require timely proper inspection to avoid accident. The guidance set general requirements for examination such as personnel qualification, procedure of inspection, discard criteria, safety during inspection, etc.
